TOWN OF HUME

July 28, 2009

 

A regular meeting of the Hume Town Board, Allegany County, New York was held at the Town of Hume Park Pavilion on Tuesday July 28, 2009.  Supervisor Craig Smith opened the meeting at 7:00 PM and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

Officials in attendance included: Supervisor Craig Smith; Council members Bryce Bower, Robert Beil, Dennis Ricketts, and Daniel Miller; and Clerk Sondra MacEwan.

 

COMMUNITY PLANNING CONTRACT

 

Supervisor Smith and the Board discussed the proposed contract with the Steinmetz Planning Group for the development of a comprehensive Community Plan. He also told the Board about the first committee meeting that was held in June, and that it had been informative and productive.

 

Councilman Ricketts moved that the Supervisor be authorized to sign the agreement with the Steinmetz Planning Group. Councilman Miller seconded the motion. 5 ayes, 0 noes.

 

COLD CREEK

 

Superintendent Paulsen created space in the Highway Department schedule so that work might commence in Cold Creek. A D-7 bulldozer was borrowed from Allegany County, and Highway employee Derek Decker will operate the machine.

 

Prior to the work commencing, a meeting was held with E&M engineer Andrea Wurster, Alex Wood (an intern from that firm), Supervisor Craig Smith, and equipment operator Derek Decker. Plans and permit guidelines were discussed.  The DEC was advised of the project’s start date of July 27, 2009.

 

The project began on the 27th as planned.

 

Councilman Ricketts moved that the meeting be adjourned, and Councilman Bower seconded. 5 ayes, 0 noes. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 PM.

 

The next regular meeting of the Hume Town Board will be Tuesday August 11, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Museum.
