TOWN OF HUME
SEPTEMBER 25, 2008
A special meeting of the Hume Town Board, Allegany New York was convened on September 25, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the Town of Hume Museum, 10842 Claybed Road, Hume, New York. The meeting was called to discuss Town facilities.
Supervisor Craig Smith led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Also attending: Councilmen Bryce Bower, Robert Beil, Daniel Miller, and Dennis Ricketts (delayed arrival); and Clerk Sondra MacEwan.
MINUTES
Councilman Beil moved that the minutes of the September 10, 2008 meeting of the Hume Town Board be accepted as presented. Councilman Bower seconded the motion. 4 ayes, 0 noes.
Supervisor Smith handed out minutes from a joint Wide Awake Club Library and Town of Hume Facilities Committee Meeting held September 16, 2008. The committee recommended that a joint floor plan be developed. In another document, the Library pledged to pay up to $1500.00 to develop the building footprint. MRB Group submitted a proposal to the Town to do this footprint.
Councilman Miller moved that the Town approve the proposal from MRB to continue with the space planning needs at a cost not to exceed $3000.00. Councilman Bower seconded the motion. Vote: 3 ayes, 1 no with Councilman Beil being the dissenting vote.
Motion carried.
E&M Engineers, in conjunction with J. O’Connell & Associates, prepared two versions of a Letter of Intent for application for a Hazard Mitigation grant. The letter is due by September 26, 2008.
After study and discussion, Councilman Miller moved that the Letter of Intent for the Cold Creek Bank Erosion Project with an approximate cost of $300,000.00 be approved for submittal. Councilman Ricketts seconded. 5 ayes, 0 noes.
Councilman Beil moved that Allen Yanda be appointed to the Variance Board to fill a vacancy in the position. The appointment shall expire on December 31, 2012. Councilman Ricketts seconded. 5 ayes, 0 noes.
The Code Enforcement Consortium will meet in Rushford on September 30, 2008 at 7:00 PM.
The 2009 Tentative Budget was presented to the Board. The Board reviewed the General Accounts, Fire Protection District, and Lighting District accounts for the 2009 budget.
Councilman Miller moved that the meeting be adjourned, and Councilman Bower seconded. 5 ayes, 0 noes. Meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM.
The next regular meeting of the Hume Town Board will be October 8, 2008 at the Town Museum at 7:00 PM.
